Mahjong is a game played with tiles for 3 or 4 people. You build a 4 sided wall with all the tiles, then deal 13 tiles each apart from the dealer who has 14. He will discard a tile, from then on you pick each next tile in the wall or previous person's discard and discard one yourself. You are aiming to get sets of 3 or 4 tiles. There are numerous different hands, but you play to your own abilities (or just by reading the list of what each hand consists of) It sounds more complicated than it is. Come along and give it a try. We have lots of sets and lists of what the hands are and instructions on how to play. But it is NOT the game on the internet which is just a simple matching game.
